Blue in the Face
49″ x 37″ mixed media. The working title of this one was “Butt Man”. But his smile made him “Blue in the Face”. Fun stripes on the side to balance a powerful image and those lips. Oh, those lips!

My 3 Friends
25″ x 52″ triptych. Mixed media. Ever had a job that was killing you? I did. While working there I was so uninspired I did not paint for 2 1/2 years. Then I quit during one particularly awful meeting, went home, got a hug from my wife, and painted My 3 Friends. Therapy painting. Love it! Been painting ever since! NEVER stay…

Galice Burn
19″ x 32″ mixed media. After backlit photo of my forestry buddies on a prescribed fire during my last year working in the woods. Really powerful imagery at the end of a long day. Great guys. I could still name them from their silhouettes.

Mona’s Sister
36″ x 32″ Acrylic on Wood. She floats out of the woodwork, if you will. Strong presence. I painted her right after completing Mona Rothco, and Sara’s sister loved it!

The Muses
37″ x 49″ Mixed Media. I worked and worked on this one. Difficult to get the feel of muses out dancing in the meadow after dark. They dance in my dreams on special nights and good things happen.

Under the Sea
18″ x 79″ Diptych. Mixed media. Ocean secrets. Mirrors on the sea foam. Made from our old doors to the dining room in our Vista house. I had a lot of fun with this one. It works pretty well as a banner. See the details below:

Red Sky at Morning
49″ x 27″ diptych mixed media. This work, along with a triptych I call Copper River, came from a landscape I was struggling with. Sometimes there is no salvation for a painting gone bad – but I cut up the landscape into 5 equal slices and made a Red Sky at Morning and Copper River. This painting has…

Owl Gone
24″ x 30″ acrylic on canvas. Early painting. Discovering freedom on canvas. You have probably guessed it started as an owl. That’s how things go sometimes…

Mirror Image Dyptich
33″ x 12″ (2 pcs) mixed media. Difficult to match a brightly colored bathroom for Maggie and Henry – ended up painting the opposite color and it worked. The contrast in colors along with the embedded mirrors really pop in a tight space. We hung them on either side of a large mirror. Embrace the space!
